John Lennon had an open mind when it came to the paranormal. While living at The Dakota --, he reported seeing a spectral figure walking down the corridors, which he referred to as the Crying Lady Ghost.
He told his first wife, Cynthia Lennon that if he passed away, he would contact her. In 1986 Cynthia reported that John had indeed sent her a sign. She found a dead jackdaw bird wrapped in old newspapers dated 1956 behind the fireplace in her home in Cumbria. John had told her,
“ If there was life after death, he would prove it by
sending her and Julian (their son) a feather as a sign.”
John’s ghost has been seen at The Dakota on several occasions.
In 1983, three years after Lennon's death, Joey Harrow, a musician, accompanied by a writer friend Amanda Moores spotted Lennon near the entrance where he was shot.
Moores stated she was tempted to approach Lennon and talk but his expression dissuaded her. Harrow reported that when Lennon appeared an eerie light surrounded him.

Yoko Ono also encountered
John Lennon’s ghost at The Dakota. She stated that she saw him sitting at his
white piano. He turned to her and said,
“Don’t be afraid. I am still with you.”
Paul McCartney described three encounters he had with Lennon's ghost.

“There were a lot of strange goings-on in the studio—noises
that shouldn’t have been and equipment doing all manner of weird things.”
In another encounter
McCartney said that during a photo shoot for the single, a white peacock
wandered over from the neighboring farm. At the last minute, this beautiful bird
made its presence known.
McCartney felt it was the spirit of John Lennon hanging around as they wrapped the recording. McCartney stated to Harrison and Starr,

McCartney, Harrison, and Starr listened to the single’s B-side he stated that
John again was making his presence known.
McCartney explained they had put a backward spoof recording on the end of the single for a laugh and to amuse fans. As they listened to the finished single one night in the studio McCartney swears, as it got to the end, they heard,

Free, as a bird
It's the next best thing to me
Free as a bird
Home, home and dry
Like a homing bird I'll fly
Like a bird on wings
Whatever happened to
the love that we once knew
Can we really live without each other
When did we loose the touch
That seemed to mean so much
It always made me feel so
Free, as a bird
It's the next best thing to me
Free as a bird
Home, home and dry
Like a homing bird I'll fly
Like a bird on wings
Whatever happened to
the love that we once knew
Always made me feel so
Free
Free, as a bird
It's the next best thing to me
Free as a bird
Free as a bird
Free as a bird
Free...
He is here. Here has been here the whole time.My dad was depression era-he was raised strict Catholic. He believed that since we are a likeness of God,who will never be destroyed. We are made of pure energy, that our bodies are just a shell. We have to go somewhere. He also believed that if one died too quick, too violently, and they had unfinished business or concerns, they would remain here. Not such a crazy thought, always a man ahead of his time.
ReplyDeleteGhosts are pure energy. I believe he is free. Just because ghosts are around--does not mean they are trapped.
ReplyDeleteI am a huge fan of the musical artist Selena, who was also murdered, and I once visited the studio where she recorded so much of her music. Upon entering that room,I felt an energy all around me - it was quite unlike anything I've ever experienced. I believe this was the ''residual energy'' - the energy left behind by a person who was often in a certain room or building - that paranormal researchers speak of so often. It's something that you really have to experience to understand, but when you do,you know it!
ReplyDeleteI find many people become believers after they encounter something that is not easily explained.
ReplyDeleteI truly know that John is here. I'm his medium and he has helped me and countless others through the net. He is as strong as he was alive and a kind heart in him still there in his chest.
ReplyDeleteHe was kind in life so it does not surprise me he is still kind.
