I recently wrote a post about a first responder to the 9/11 Flight 93 crash site in Pennsylvania. This witness saw an
amazing sight. She recounts in her book Shadow of a Badge that she saw multiple angels helping the deceased at
this plane crash site.
Yet another responder
who helped after the 9/11 terrorist attacks has written a book about his
encounter with a ghost while he was sifting through debris from the World
Trade Center at a Staten Island landfill.
Frank Marra now retired, was
a New York City police officer. For months after the attacks, he and many other
volunteers helped sift through over 54,000 personal items and helped identify
many of the remains of over 1,200 victims that died on 9/11.
In his book, From Landfill to Hallowed Ground, he
talks about seeing an odd figure 50 yards away as he worked at the site. He
describes this figure as an African American women dressed as a Second World War Red Cross worker.
He noted she carried a tray
of sandwiches. He saw her on several occasions. He did not think much about
this sight until a year later. He was talking to a friend, a detective that also volunteered at the landfill. This man mentioned seeing her ghost.
It dawned on Frank that this explained what he saw. He found out later that many of the volunteers at the
landfill had seen the Red Cross worker. Yet others came forward and mentioned
they had seen dark shadowy figures and dark masses moving around the site.
Since these sightings have been publicized several mediums have stated that this female ghost might have been a soul collector--guiding people to the afterlife.
