A Helpful Spirit Child

This is a recent local story from Las Cruces, NM.

The mother of a toddler who died two years ago claims her daughter was caught on camera near where she is buried.

Faviola Rodriguez was only two years old when she died in September of 2018.

Ever since, her mother, Saundra Gonzales, has discovered Faviola’s toys and other personal items, that she has placed at her gravesite, missing.

Could it be her deceased daughter taking them?

Saundra, who at first thought they were stolen, now has cause to wonder.

Recently, another family visiting the Masonic Cemetery in Las Cruces captured some intriguing images on video.

Ms. Gonzalez is firmly convinced that this video shows an image of her daughter.

Many have described it as “beautiful”—for it shows a little girl escorting another family’s brother, who died recently.

Saundra believes it is her daughter’s image escorting this man up to heaven.

Here is a video that one local TV News station shared about what this video captured.

Spooky Point Sur Lighthouse

This lighthouse, first built in 1889, was fully automated by the Coast Guard in 1972.

Point Sur Lighthouse
It sits high atop a large volcanic rock on a remote location, just north of Big Sur, California.

Today, this lighthouse is a California State Park and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Despite its strong intense beam many ships wrecked, as they tried to navigate along this rugged section of the California coastline.

But this is not the reason midnight haunted tours are offered in October at the lighthouse.

Instead, it is the spirits of family members of the lightkeepers who linger on this beautiful spot.

Many believe these spirits stay because the keeper’s house affords spectacular views of the wild coastline and the Pacific Ocean on three sides.

This house has ocean-view windows in every room, including even the closets and bathrooms.

Several volunteers who help out at the fully restored lighthouse have encountered these ghosts.

Julie Nunes, states the lighthouse has a peaceful, “Shangri-La” feel. She states the ghosts she has encountered are not malevolent in nature.

Kitchen a Point Sur.
Before entering the light keeper's house Nunes, always knocks and greets one ghost, named Ruth, that resides in the house.

Ruth was one light keeper’s wife. She likes to hang out in the house’s kitchen. Smells of cooking are reported, and it seems Ruth likes her privacy for she often swings the kitchen door shut.

Nunes has recorded another female spirit’s voice stating-- “Now she wants you to go home.” And “Pokey, go to bed.”

It is believed this is the voice of Catherine Ingersoll, a Danish immigrant who married one of the lightkeepers.

She is telling her daughter, Pokey, to go to bed. On this recording, the listener can hear the faint sound of the little girl’s voice responding.

Another volunteer, Sheila Fraser was alone in the keeper’s house cleaning. As she put a vacuum away, she heard something downstairs.

Stair landing where
Fraser saw the ghost.
She looked down from the stair landing and saw a woman who looked real.

“She wore her hair up, her sleeves were puffy, and she wore a long skirt. As Fraser watched, she just disappeared.

Fraser has also seen a male ghost watching her from the keeper house's living room window.

In the following video, Nune places an Ovilus down on the kitchen table next to a pair of skeleton arms. She asks, “Pokey, are you here?”

Watch closely, for the skeleton hand on the left—near the coffee mug—moves. I didn’t see it the first time I watched—but it makes a slight movement.

Besides the October tours, year-round tours are offered at Point Sur Lighthouse.

Twitter’s Dear David

Adam Ellis
Adam Ellis shared this disturbing encounter with a child ghost on his Twitter account back in 2017.

He first posted—

“My apartment is currently being haunted by the ghost of a dead child, and he’s trying to kill me.”

Illustration Adam Ellis drew.
He then followed this tweet up with an illustration, he drew after seeing this ghost sitting in a rocking chair at the foot of his bed.

He described what he saw—“he has a huge misshapen head that is dented on one side.”

This ghost then came to him in “a dream” and explained he had been killed when a bookshelf had fallen and crushed his head.

Cats at the front door.
During this time, Adam’s cats began to act strangely. They sat at his front door, crouched down and sniffing at the bottom crack for four nights in a row. They refused to move.

Adam snapped several photos of the hallway at the entrance to his apartment. He used two different cameras, but despite this space was well lit, his photos came out pitch black.

Dark hallway

One of his followers on twitter then took one of these photos and “brightened it.” This revealed a figure standing at Adam’s door.

Ellis had another dream where David “dragged him.” He woke up the next morning with a bad bruise on his arm. At this same time, he began to receive strange phone calls, multiple times a day that didn’t show up on his Caller ID.

When he answered a weak voice would say, “hello.”

Adam now concerned, set up a video camera in his apartment. His first recording captured his green rocking chair moving on its own. This link is to Ellis's twitter account where you can view this chair moving.

Ellis began to see this ghost child standing on his roof. He snapped several photos, but the figure moved too quickly. But he finally captured the image he saw.

A screenshot of one still from the video.

Adam set up another video to record while he slept. He then captured the most disturbing image of all. This recording shows the ghost running over his bed, and then it ducks down by the side of the bed, only to pop up and then duck down again.

Here is a link to a twitter feed that still has a gif of this video.

Adam Ellis after this moved and got another job.

A Strange Twin

Robert Owen's book

One of the strangest stories about a doppelganger was chronicled in Robert Owens 1860 book, Footfalls on the Boundary of Another World.

Emilie Sagee lived in 19th Century France. She was a single lady who made her living as a schoolteacher. She was pretty, likable and a good teacher by all accounts.

Despite this, she had trouble keeping a job, in fact, she was forced to move from town to town.

The reason for this is she had a ghostly twin who haunted her. This apparition since birth had plagued her life. For her twin was no ordinary ghost, it was a doppelganger.

She was fired from eighteen teaching positions because of this doppelganger.

It was during her time at her 19th position that it was clearly documented what was happening. She obtained a position in Latvia at the Pensionat von Neuwelcke--a prestigious school for girls.

While teaching a French class in front of thirteen students, her twin appeared out of nowhere and proceeded to mimic her every move. Though all her students could see this ghost, Emilie could not.

During another lesson, this doppelganger appeared in front of the class sitting in Emilie’s chair. Emilie at the time was out in the school garden. Two brave students approached this apparition.

One of the girls tried to touch her, but her hand went straight through her. Later she reported it felt like her hand had touched a substance that felt like cloth.

Emilie’s twin would often follow the class when they took walks together. It always kept its distance. Again only Emilie’s students saw it, never Emilie.

It was also seen standing in the classroom doorway imitating Emilie’s every move. Not surprising, with these strange sightings Emilie lost her job at this school as well.

It is said that it is a blessing Emilie never met her own doppelganger for it is believed this would have brought her further bad luck.

A doppelganger is the exact double of a living person but is an apparition. In German doppelganger means, “double walker” for these phantoms are not ghosts in the traditional sense. They instead are a projection of a person who is not deceased.

It is like a person who has split in two or has the ability to be in two places at once. It is believed that Emilie’s doppelganger often appeared because she had a driving need to be a good teacher.

The following is a short video that highlights this story.

Haunted B-29 Bomber

Located in the San Joaquin Valley in northern California is the Castle Air Museum. This museum is nearby the closed Castle Air Force Base.

The Castle Air Museum displays over 50 historic aircraft from the World War ll, Korean and Vietnam War eras.

Raz'n Hell
One restored aircraft at this museum has a reputation for being haunted by a ghost named Arthur. This ghost is called Arthur because of a set of dog tags found in the plane when it was first brought to the museum.

This aircraft is a B-29 Superfortress—the kind used to drop the Atomic bombs on Japan. It is called the Ran’z Hell.

No one knows for sure who Arthur is because when this Boeing B-29 was restored it had to be pieced together from 3 seperate aircraft of the same model. All had served in the Pacific theater during World War ll.

One common report from witnesses is this aircraft’s landing lights are seen on at night. The problem with is all the Raz’n Hell’s wiring has been removed.

Other witnesses have reported seeing its propellers rotating even though they are locked in place.

Several visitors and workers have seen a shadowy figure moving around the cockpit area. Others have reported seeing a dark figure sitting in the cockpit.

During the time the plane was being restored, one employee while working in the cockpit stated he asked a friend to hand him a wrench. Without looking up he felt this wrench placed in his hand.

Seconds later, he looked out one window and saw his friend outside the plane. He looked around but no one was in the B-29 with him.

Other activity involving tools includes ones that are moved without explanation and others that have disappeared.

One former Castle Museum worker states that he often worked on a plane directly across from this Superfortess. On more than one occasion he noticed the co-pilot window open only to see it closed minutes later. This was when no one was working on the Raz’n Hell.

A tradition among the workers at this museum is to request permission from Arthur before they enter this B-29 bomber.

Several paranormal groups have investigated the Raz’n Hell. They have walked away with some interesting evidence.

One team recorded what they feel is the sound of Morse code. This has led many to believe that Arthur must have been a radio operator.

Other teams have heard and recorded distinct knockings on the plane’s fuselage when no one was near this area.

Here is a report done by a local news show about this haunting.

Thetford Priory

Thetford Priory as it once was.
Founded by Roger Bigold the 1st Earl of Norfolk in the 1100s this priory today is in ruins. On this site, several witnesses have seen what appears to be the ghosts of black-robed cluni monks.

In 1937, terrified witnesses heard the sounds of monks reading, chanting and singing in Latin.

In 1992, scared teenagers hanging out at this old priory heard the clinking of keys before they watched an apparition of a monk run straight past them.

However, the most famous sighting occurred in 1987. Christian Jensen-Romer and three of his friends watched through an archway as a monk descended some stairs. When they approached, the monk and the stairs they were no longer there.

Christian Jensen-Romer
This group of male teens, Jensen-Romer was 18 at the time, were driving through the town of Thetford in Norfolk on their way to a wargames meeting.

The call of nature interrupted their trip. As they looked for a loo or restroom they stumbled upon the ruins at the end of one lane. A sign informed them that they were at “Thetford Priory, a victim of Henry Vllls’ “Dissolution of the Monasteries” in the mid 16th century.

It was a warm August night around 8:30 p.m. They found a secluded spot behind a bush to relieve themselves, as they turned to leave they looked at the ruins one last time.

Archway in ruins.
All four spotted a figure that at first, they thought was playing a joke. This figure was peering at them from an upper window. Then the group saw this figure through an archway below. It was wearing a black sheet that billowed behind it as it walked down a staircase.

The group charged forward toward the figure. Jensen-Romer remembers running up a few steps only to then slam his head against the side flint wall. In the dark, the teens quickly realized there was no staircase in the archway. The dark figure had disappeared as well.

A feeling of coldness enveloped the group and two of the teens became nauseous and threw-up. As they left the priory, they eerily got the sense the stone walls were somehow rebuilding themselves around them.

Thetford Priory
As they ran to their car it felt as if the ground beneath their feet turned to wet sand and they all stated their legs became unsteady. All four afterward wrote down what they saw in the archway.

Their accounts differed in the description of the figure, but they all agreed it appeared to be a “black-robed figure that appeared to be a monk.” They also agreed that what they saw was more than just a product of their fear.

Christian Jensen-Romer who later became a writer and Parapsychologist states this experience changed how he looks at the world. He understands why people claim to see ghosts.

He is not certain what they saw that night—but all four men today state they did see something that was “real.”

In a program entitled, Ripples in Time met with these four witnesses 10 years later at the priory. Three are scientists, and one is a psychologist today. They recount what they saw in detail on this video.

Another witness to this phenomenon, Margaret and her daughter are residents of Thetford. One warm summer’s day as they sat on a bench near the ruins they saw a monk.

He had his head bent and his arms were tucked in his habit. He glided by oblivious to their presence. Margaret followed this figure around one wall only to find no one.

She admits she has never gone near the ruins since.

One pamphlet in the town tells stories of people trying to speak to this monk only to see the figure vanish in front of their eyes instead.

Several of these encounters point to the fact that this might be a Residual haunting but the four male teen’s experience seems to be more a time slip.

Haunted Calculator?

This past fall—2015-- an American couple became engaged. It was after this that their desktop calculator began to act strangely.

Was this calculator celebrating their engagement? One article written in England seems to thinks so.

Soon after Fran Lussier proposed to his girlfriend, she was at home alone one afternoon when she noticed something strange. Their desktop calculator turned on without assistance and printed out a “diamond symbol” on its tape.

Lussier’s fiancé was surprised, to say the least. She told Fran what she had seen, and the evidence was clear for there was the tape rolled off the machine with the diamond on it.

The couple then sat down and tried to replicate this diamond by using the calculator’s keypad but they couldn’t.

The couple flabbergasted could not come up with a reasonable explanation of what was happening. Was this machine haunted?

In the following days, the calculator printed out 5 more diamond symbols on its own.

After this, the couple was getting ready to go out when Lussier’s fiancé sat down at the desk were the calculator is placed to put on her shoes. The machine began to print.

The fiancé asked the machine to print one more diamond, which it did without hesitation.

This time, Lussier pulled out his phone to record the activity. As seen in the video below the couple proceeds to talk to and coax the calculator.

At first, the calculator does not respond, the couple then asks if it will print once more if they turn the camera off. The fiancé tells it they have turned the camera off.

But Lussier continues to record—at which point the calculator begins to print. The couple jumps backs and screams, and then they laugh. The printer produced another diamond.

This proves the old adage: Be careful what you ask for, you might just get it. So did this actually happen?
